Elevate your company's branded look with custom screen printing. Typically, we opt to screen print clothing items such as T-shirts, sweatshirts & hoodies. We keep all designs on file for quick & easy reordering.
Quantity price breaks are available at every dozen up to 48, then again at 72, 96, 144, 216, 288, 576, 1,000– and all the way up to 10,000+ total quantity. The more custom items we can decorate at a time, the more inexpensive screen print pricing will become.
Also, as long as the design stays the same, we can include multiple T-shirt & sweatshirt styles in a custom screen print run, and ALL of them will count toward higher price breaks.
ex: 36 T-shirts + 36 hoodies = all items get 72 piece pricing.
We also have years of experience in achieving special “looks”, such as "soft hand" screen printing. If you have special screen printing requirements, all you need to do is let us know during the quote process. We’ll give your screen print project the extra attention it requires, to ensure your expectations are met. You've even got the option to request a preproduction sample, so you can see the "first one" before we print the rest. Our goal is to produce a decorated shirt that exceeds your expectations.
Full Color Process or CMYK Printing
Also available is full color process, or CMYK, printing. This is an advanced custom screen printing process where a full color or photographic design is separated into four translucent colors: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black/Key. This is a challenging process and requires a great deal of art prep to get colors to turn out right in the end, which means for most full color projects, a larger order (144+ pieces) is required.
With recent advancements in Digital Print, often a better result is achievable by using that process, although costs should be compared. For full-color shirt designs, smaller quantity orders make a lot of sense with Digital Print. For larger runs (144+), CMYK screen printing may be the way to go.
Advanced Color Separation Techniques
There are other advanced color separation techniques we use as well, which set Atomic Threads apart from others in our industry. We are capable of printing “simulated process” or sim process screen prints, which generally speaking look similar to full process color custom screen prints, but the difference being they are printed in standard (opaque) spot color inks. The look is achieved by printing the image in a fine halftone dot pattern, directly to the fabric material. Usually this process is used on dark garments, but can be used on lights as well. Have us take a peek at your art, and we'll make a recommendation for which custom screen print color separation process will work the best and be most cost effective for your project.

Screen Setup
Since we include all setup costs into the per item price quoted, you won't need to worry about this too much! We love educated clients though, so if you want to understand why costs for a screen printed design can get high for small production runs, here's your answer:
Screen setup is easily the most misunderstood concept about screen printing. It is not a one time cost (like artwork), but rather a fee based on the labor & material cost to set up a production run, which applies to every production run– even if it’s the same artwork we’ve printed before.
Let's dispel this myth: We do not keep screens for more than 1-2 weeks after a job is printed! Screens are reclaimed after printing, to be used for the next job, and the next, and the next. We have about 100 or so screens that we rotate through-- If we kept imaged screens from every project we've screen printed, there'd be 100,000 screens stacked up!
We always explain screen setup costs like this: It takes lots of materials, time and labor to color separate the artwork, output films, expose screens, rinse them and dry them. Even more time and labor are required to set them up on the press, register all the colors on all the prints, then print sample prints and make final adjustments until everything is printing perfectly. Let's say that process takes about 20 minutes to an hour (not counting the art time & proofing before production). Now imagine if someone wanted to order just one shirt; we’d need to charge for all that time, labor and materials in addition to the cost of the shirt. A LOT of work goes into what we do, and it literally takes the same amount of prep work, time and setup to print one item as it does 10,000.
Again, the pricing in your quote has all of this "screen setup" cost already factored in, so no need to sweat the details. We try to make the process as simple as possible.
